Please support our partner organisation

Park Schools Montessori

At Park Schools Montessori, we provide care and learning for children 6 weeks to 6 years old. Generally, our students come from low-income families. Park School Montessori (PSM) is the only Montessori school located in East Point, GA that also runs after school programs and organizes a range of community engagement activities. The after-school program exposes students to Montessori education by way of being a host site for the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services for children whose families receive public assistance.

The school provides free/reduced tuition to 30% of its students through a government program called CAPS in the state of Georgia. 11% of our students are homeless; this through a partnership with the Generation Infocus Foundation, which provides job training to homeless and low-income individuals, some whom have children. PSM agreed to provide support to those families through the hosting of a food pantry, clothing and more personal items. Park Schools Montessori is located on Washington Road in East Point, GA. which is a dilapidated area in which Montessori education is desperately needed.

Regarding the community served, it is important to note that the total population of East Point

is around 38,000 of which 22.7% is living below poverty level, with the median household

income being $45,400, as compared to the median income for families in Atlanta of $64,179.

Unemployment rate in East Point is 7.3%. The 5 largest ethnic groups in East Point, GA are

Black or African American (Non-Hispanic) (76.2%), White (Non-Hispanic) (14%), White

(Hispanic) (4.51%), Two+ (Non-Hispanic) (1.52%), and Other (Hispanic) (1.48%).

For Giving Tuesday 2023, we are asking for your help to get our school a more suitable kitchen to cater to our beautiful kids.

Ideally, we would love to have a commercial-type school kitchen suitable to our growing needs, but we understand that things are challenging for many people at this time. With that in mind, we are aiming to be able to purchase some needed appliances and equipment and possibly redesign our existing kitchen space. To do this we are seeking to raise $25,000.

We invite you to support our cause through a donation of your choice. Every donation will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, we invite you to share our cause with your friends, family and other contacts.

Thank you for your consideration and support.

Sincerely,

Park Schools Montessori
